Dr. Helen N. Fagin Holocaust, Genocide and Human Rights Collection

The Fagin collection contains materials about the Holocaust, genocide, and human rights and is named in honor of Holocaust survivor and supporter of New College Dr. Helen Fagin. Dr. Helen N. Fagin is a well-known Holocaust educator who was instrumental in establishing both the National World War II Memorial and the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum.

Holocaust as history & memory

The Holocaust as a History and Memory seminar covers and considers the big questions that the Holocaust poses—why it happened, how we should remember, commemorate, and study it, and whether and how we should engage with those who deny it occurred. As a SETSAIL course, students will also learn how to think critically and analytically, and navigate resources on our campus and around the world.
